I could go down twenty kilos during a slimming period
and then I went up again. Often even more kilos than I
had lost, says Isabel Landsite.
To lose weight to go back again - more than a kilo
than you went down - is called joy slinking. Because
you lose weight on extremely low-calorie cycles,
combustion is reduced. When you start eating normally
again, you do not only pick up the kilos you went
down, but more because the combustion is not as
effective as before.

For Isabel Landsite, she started slimming when she was
only 16 years old. Then she was 70kg a bit stronger
than her friends. After many rounds of starters, the
weight passed 100 kilos.
I went hungry for some periods and overthrew in
others. I had big ups and downs and was so keen on the
slimming that I felt I lost my personality eventually.
I became more closed. I found out that it was my
feeling that crashed when I ate, so I often ask myself
when I feel hungry: am I hungry or is it anything
else?
Ideal
Isabel Landsite is now practicing both at home and at
the fitness center, and more often than ever enjoy
skiing with the kids. "Now the weight loss is slower,
but I'm not hungry and I feel much better," says
Isabel.
According to the Finnish study "Prevalence of weight
cycling and its relation to health indicators", cuts
people who slim down in periods so as to rise again,
lower on health and well-being. They are more prone to
depression and anxiety.
The body cover is too thin, causing normal weight to
feel thick. There is little connection between what
you weigh and how to evaluate yourself, says
psychologist and associate professor of health
psychology at the University of Oslo, Angela Lund in
Kale.
Kale has talked to several obese patients who started
their career as overweight as jujus lancers.
"This type of diet can lead to obesity because you
cannot keep up with extreme diets for a long time.
Starting with slimming after slimming and unable to
keep weight is heavy, says Kale.
There may be many causes of jujus lancing, but
professionals believe that this type of diet is not an
eating disorder, although it may have psychological
causes and effects.
Some people are dissatisfied with their body and want
to lose weight even if they do not need it. Then it
may be a bad self-image. Others may have trouble
controlling the meal. These are habits it can be
difficult to change. After a while on diet, many
returns to their bad eating patterns. Research shows
that by all those who start on hard weight cures, 95
percent get back in weight, Kale says.

Mister Muscles
Legs Ina Wile, who is attached to Vektklubb.no,
believes it is dangerous to starve into weight.
Low-calorie diets cause the body to lower combustion
while the appetite increases. When you start eating
again, many people can have a huge appetite after a
period of strict diet. Many eat so much during the
periods that they go up more than they went down,
"Wile says.
When you go on a low-calorie diet, you lose both
muscles mass and fat. When you start to get on again,
the kilos make up most of the fat.
Fats burn less energy than muscles, therefore
combustion is reduced. To start combustion, you need
to increase muscle mass through strength training,"
says Wile.
Fitness center
Isabel Landsite has managed to change his lifestyle.
Now she practices three to four times a week and eats
five meals a day. She has lost a few pounds already,
and the goal is to find the match weight.
I do not feel so caught in my body anymore. When you
are overweight, it's completely killer to work out,
luckily I've been very geared! It has been important
for me not to transfer the bad habits of my children.
They will have a life where food is not a problem,
"she says.

Labeling Slimming has the opposite effect
The Finnish study shows that normal weight-weighted
people start to lose weight, often gaining weight.
The study involved 3320 men and 3540 women aged 25 to
64 who tried to lose weight but failed to keep weight
down. Their slim pattern was examined over a decade.
About seven percent of men and ten percent of women
were defined as serious jujus lanes, while 11 percent
of men and 19 percent of women were defined as "mild"
jujus lanes.
Every fifth in the group of severe jujus lanker
experienced their own health as bad.
The study showed that many normal-weighted women,
especially women, often slim themselves if they do not
need it, while many sickly overweight people do not
recognize that they lose weight.
The Juju slinks functioned worse in their roles, were
more often mildly depressed, and more often with fear.

Losing weight as part of weight management is important
because weighing too much is not good for your health.
Being overweight increases your risk of health
conditions such as heart problems, high blood pressure,
type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
