WASHINGTON, June 22 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump onThursday denied having recorded conversations with James Comey, theformer director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Trump firedlast month.

The tweet was an effort to quell questions whether he recordedhis private conversations with Comey in the White House and byphone before firing Comey.

Trump has tweeted on May 12, days after firing Comey, that"James Comey better hope that there are no 'tapes' of ourconversations before he starts leaking to the press!" promptingwidespread speculation that such recordings existed.

Neither Trump nor the White House gave out recordings sincethen, and were reluctant to confirm if such recordings didexist.

Trump told the press on June 9 that "I'll tell you about thatmaybe sometime in the near future," and that the press "are goingto be very disappointed when you hear the answer."

White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders refuted speculations fromthe press that Trump was playing "game" in order to make sure thatComey tell the truth.

VIENTIANE, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Laos is to select two best male U18 table tennis players to join the national team for the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia this August, according to the Lao Table Tennis Federation on Monday.

The federation expects their U18 and U15 juniors will be all the better for the experience following the ASEAN Junior Table Tennis Championship in Singapore from June 13-17, where its one male U18 and two U15 female players were unsuccessful in their medal quest but in mixed doubles Laos was able to pass the first round.

The best juniors will join the national team for training in Lao capital Vientiane next month in the lead up to the SEA Games.
