The national writers have spoken Kendall Fuller Color Rush Jersey , ad despite their 30-23 defeat of the Denver Broncos on Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs have dropped one spot in our aggregated power rankings for Week 9.Pundit Power Rankings for Week 9Chiefs AFC West Teams Other AFC TeamsHere's what the pundits we're tracking said about the Chiefs this week:ESPN (2nd from 2nd)MMQB (3rd from 3rd)NFL.com (Elliot Harrison - 3rd from 3rd)SBNation (Rebecca Toback - 3rd from 3rd)Sporting News (Vinnie Iyer - 4th from 4th)Yahoo! Sports (Frank Schwab - 2nd from 2nd)CBS Sports (Pete Prisco - 4th from 4th)USA Today (Nate Davis - 4th from 4th)Other power rankings we noticed this week:Mile High Report (Pete Baron ¡ª 2nd from 2nd) And the band keeps marching on. The game was closer than most predicted, but again, divisional games are usually like that. This team is set for a long while with Mahomes, Hunt, Hill, and Kelce. Their only competition will be the salary cap when contracts start coming due. If they can keep pure greed at bay, they can be the NFL¡¯s next dynasty.NESN.com (Joshua Schrock ¡ª 2nd from 3rd) Patrick Mahomes further improved his MVP case with his third straight four-touchdown game in a 30-23 win over the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs will face the Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals in the next two weeks before facing the Rams in Mexico City in Week 11.NBCSports.com (Cam Ellis ¡ª 3rd from 3rd) Another 30 points for Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. Ho hum. Wake up me when they go over 40. Just kidding. I¡¯ll watch every second they¡¯re on national TV.Washington Post (Mark Maske ¡ª 4th from 4th) QB Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs just kept cruising with the victory at home over the Broncos. At this point, the surprise isn¡¯t that Mahomes threw for 303 yards and four TDs; it was that he threw an interception.Chicago Tribune (Brad Biggs ¡ª 3rd from 3rd)Speedster Sammy Watkins delivered with 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a victory over the Broncos.Once again, the Los Angeles Rams ¡ª still undefeated, but probably still shaking after a narrow victory over the Green Bay Packers ¡ª were the pundits¡¯ unanimous pick for first place in their Week 9 power rankings. It seems that the scribes didn¡¯t learn anything new about the Chiefs in their 30-23 win against the Broncos.Every single one of them left the Chiefs in exactly the same position as last week.So what really happened here is that the pundits were more impressed by the 30-20 win the New Orleans Saints had against the Minnesota Vikings ¡ª and in all honesty, that¡¯s probably fair.Based on many of their comments about the Chiefs, it¡¯s pretty clear that the pundits expect the Chiefs to be 9-1 when they face the Rams in Mexico City.So in the eyes of the pundits, unless either team (or the Saints) stumbles before then, it¡¯s not likely we¡¯ll see much change in the top three before the big showdown. The Arizona Cardinals and the Indianapolis Colts both moved up four spots, sharing the honor for the biggest rise of the week.It didn¡¯t do the Cardinals much good, but the Colts at least escaped the cellar-dwellers.The Baltimore Ravens took the biggest fall.Their second straight loss ¡ª this one to the Carolina Panthers ¡ª dropped Baltimore out of the top 10 in our calculations. The Colts also generated the most disagreement this week.CBS Sports¡¯ Pete Prisco thought their 42-28 defeat of the Oakland Raiders should push them up eight spots.Others were less impressed ¡ª especially Nate Davis of USA Today, who thought the win only merited an increase of one position.Opinions vary, but I¡¯d have to go with Nate on that one.Snark of the weekI¡¯m going to resist the temptation to quote the MMQB¡¯s Mitch Goldich again this week ¡ª he made me laugh three times while reading the MMQB Power Poll¡ª but I believe in giving everybody a shot.So I¡¯ll go with the aforementioned Nate Davis, and his comment about the Browns:And on Wednesday...My reading of the tea leaves suggests that the number-crunchers will have a new number one when we assemble all the data. How will that change the Week 9 Arrowhead Pride True Power Rankings?Check back on Wednesday https://www.thechiefsfanshop.com/Anthony-Hitchens-Jersey , and you¡¯ll see! The Kansas City Chiefs dropped their first game of the season Sunday night to the New England Patriots in Foxborough. Here were the snap counts for the Chiefs:OffenseDefenseSpecial teams (only)Starters (offense): WR Tyreek Hill, LT Eric Fisher, LG Cam Erving, C Mitch Morse, RG Jordan Devey, RT Mitch Schwartz, TE Travis Kelce, WR Sammy Watkins, RB Kareem Hunt, WR Chris Conley, QB Patrick MahomesStarters (defense): LDE Allen Bailey, NT Derrick Nnadi, LOLB Dee Ford, LILB Reggie Ragland, RILB Anthony Hitchens, ROLB Breeland Speaks, SCB Kendall Fuller, RCB Steve Nelson, LCB Orlando Scandrick, S Jordan Lucas Chad Henne Jersey , S Ron ParkerActive, but did not play: QB Chad Henne, S Leon McQuay, LB Nate OrchardInactive: S Eric Berry, S Eric Murray, RB Darrel Williams, LB Justin Houston, OL Kahlil McKenzie, DT Justin Hamilton, LB Tanoh KpassagnonTakeaways (in no particular order)The Chiefs offense ran 54 plays on offense and 78 plays on defense against the Patriots.Sammy Watkins played 100 percent of offensive snaps against the Patriots, coming away with four targets for two receptions and 18 yards.Wide receiver Tyreek Hill (98 percent) and tight end Travis Kelce (94 percent) were also in for much of the game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes targeted Hill 12 times for seven receptions, 142 yards and three touchdowns. Mahomes targeted Kelce nine times for five receptions and 61 yards. When center Mitch Morse (22 snaps) left the game with a concussion, starting right guard Jordan Devey slid over to center and Andrew Wylie (32 snaps) came in at right guard. Two offensive snaps for fullback Anthony Sherman is a season-low.Your iron men on defense (100 percent of snaps) were safeties Jordan Lucas and Ron Parker, cornerback Steven Nelson and linebacker Anthony Hitchens. With Justin Houston out of the lineup, Breeland Speaks played 76 defensive snaps (97 percent). The Chiefs like rookie Derrick Nnadi at nose tackle¡ªhe out-snapped Xavier Williams for the second week in a row. This week it was 39-26. The Chiefs have had Nnadi playing around 50 percent of defensive snaps in the last two games.Linebacker Reggie Ragland¡¯s snaps were back up against New England¡ªhe had 49 defensive snaps (63 percent). Ragland out-snapped Terrance Smith, who saw only eight plays of defensive action. Linebacker Frank Zombo also saw just eight plays in his return to the lineup.Cornerback-safety hybrid Josh Shaw saw 22 defensive snaps (28 percent) in his debut for the Chiefs. The four-phase special teams guys for the Chiefs right now are tight end Demetrius Harris (28 special teams snaps), fullback Anthony Sherman (27), linebacker Terrance Smith (28) and cornerback Charvarius Ward (28). After all the talk of Marcus Kemp playing wide receiver and safety this week, he had just 18 snaps on special teams.
